The FSU softball teams continue to win in impressive fashion after sweeping the Golden Bears and doing so with run-rule victories in each of the three games played in this series.

The No. 10 Florida State softball team beat Cal 9-1 in the third game of their series to complete the sweep and add to its impressive 17 game win streak.

Every outcome in this series was a run-rule victory and the Noles have now swept their last two opponents, improving their record to 28-4, while remaining undefeated in ACC conference play at 6-0.

After a scoreless first inning the Seminoles got on the board when Marin Heller hit a deep ball over the left centerfield fence, scoring Makenna Sturgis, who had previously been walked.

Then, in the bottom of the second, the Noles put two runners on base when Haley Griggs walked and All-American Isa Torres hit a single, putting runner on first and second base. Jaysoni Beachum’s single brought Griggs home, and Torres scored after a sacrifice fly by Shelby McKenzie, putting the Noles up 4-0.

Cal’s Kyndal Todd was the only Golden Bear to bat runs in during this series, and she drove in her third and final RBI of the series by scoring Gator Robinson from second base in the top of the third.

Harp would score in the bottom of the third after a sacrifice fly by Sturgis. The Noles left the third inning up 5-1.

The bottom of the fourth would see Harp hit a single and score Mckenzie while advancing Danley to third base after previously being walked. Harp and Danley would then score on a home run by Anna Hinde putting the Noles up 9-1 after four innings.

The Bears, who had six hits in this game and left seven runners on base, couldn't generate any runs in the fifth inning. The game ended after the top of the fifth inning with FSU beating the bears for their sixth straight win against Cal.
