The Seminoles haven't stopped talking to and courting the high-profile local linebacker.
Kaden Henderson is nearing the finish line of his lengthy recruiting process. Florida State football didn't appear to rise as a favorite at first.
But that doesn't mean linebackers coach Ernie Sims, defensive coordinator Tony White and head coach Mike Norvell isn't letting up with recruiting the five-star linebacker.
The Jesuit High of Tampa star even spoke highly of FSU following his Thursday visit, which he shared in-depth with Noles247.
"Obviously I love Florida State," Henderson said to Zach Blostein. "Just seeing [head] coach [Mike] Norvell, seeing [DC] coach [Tony] White, seeing [LB's] coach [Ernie] Sims. It reminds me of my childhood self, looking up, looking at Derwin James, Dalvin Cook and all of the guys like that. It means a lot."
The Seminoles haven't dominated on the football field the last two seasons. Does Henderson see this team trending downward, though?
"I think this program can easily change for the better, going back to how the 2023 season was. That would be something I want to be a part of but I think they have to show that. I think they know that," Henderson said.
Once again, the Noles aren't surrendering on their hopes to pull off the massive recruiting coup.
"They're still in my recruitment," Henderson said. "Every school I'm going to this spring, I seriously see myself going there. There's so many things that can happen in this college football landscape. That's why I'm here right now, just because I know craziness can happen."
He'll even win over FSU fans following his recruitment.
"I can definitely see myself being here. That's why I came back," Henderson said. "I know a lot of people are questioning me about why you want to be here. 'Oh Coach Norvell is on the hot seat.' I love this place regardless of who's here. It could be my mom coaching. I'd still want to be here. I think that just speaks volumes. I'm happy for coach Norvell. I think they're definitely going to turn this around."
He concludes how FSU if "definitely in a good position," and how "I definitely see myself being back here, maybe doing a midweek OV (official visit), maybe during the season. I think they're in good shape."
He lastly liked the defensive intensity on display when he watched practice.
FSU still has lots of competition to beat. Ranging from Ohio State, Miami and Texas A&M.
