The Seminoles are still needing a quarterback for the 2027 class. New intel reveals that FSU is pursuing this talent.

Florida State football is launching "flip season" early during a pivotal time for recruiting -- this spring.

Now the Seminoles have their sights set on flipping University of Central Florida commit Logan Flaherty -- with a March 13 visit date now scheduled, according to Chris Nee of Noles247 Wednesday.

"He has been to FSU numerous times, as he drew a great deal of attention from former quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz," Nee said, who adds that Tokarz's departure has delivered little impact on Flaherty's potential interest in the Noles.

Flaherty has been to Tallahassee before.

"He most recently visited for FSU's game against Alabama last season. He also camped with the Seminoles in early June of 2025," Nee said. "He previously visited in April of 2025 for a spring practice as well. His first major visit to FSU as a recruit was in December of 2024."

But is the Port Charlotte, Florida, talent starting to eye FSU as a potential destination? Even with his verbal commitment to the Knights? He previously shared some thoughts about FSU before setting up the March 13 visit.

"No honestly I haven't had much contact until now," Flaherty explained back on March 3 to Noles247. "Coach Tucker reached out Sunday morning and said he wanted me to get up to a spring practice, said he talked to Coach [Mike] Norvell about getting me up there."

Flaherty noticed how much more proactive the Noles are with pursuing him.

"From the way he made it seem sounds like they are going to keep more in contact moving forward," he said of his conversation with Tucker, plus the Seminoles coaching staff in general.

Should he flip to FSU, he'll be around a newly added assistant coach.

Jesse Stone is one of the newcomers into the Norvell staff, which the school announced the first week of March. Stone previously coached at Auburn and has a connection to projected starting QB Ashton Daniels.

Flaherty could also work closely with Gabe Fertitta, who serves as director of football strategy, but is also an offensive assistant.

There's even a Flaherty on the coaching staff -- with Jake Flaherty coaching the special teams unit as an assistant there. Although it's not known if the 2027 QB and the incoming special teams assistant are related.
