Weiss High's Tre Moore boasts elite stats and size. Florida State needs offensive firepower; this Texas receiver could be the game-changer.

Everything is big in Texas, including high school football. Under the lights on a Friday night is the place to be to see the best prep football talent in America battle it out on the gridiron.

The State of Texas is one of the “Big 3” when it comes to recruiting schoolboy football talent, along with Florida and California. Look at any major college football roster, and you would be hard-pressed not to find at least one player from the Lone Star State.

In Texas, the high school offenses are wide open, running some variation of the spread offense more often than not, and like to throw the ball all over the field. Talented receivers abound that can catch the football and make plays; one of those talented receivers is Tre Moore of Weiss High School in Pflugerville, Texas.

At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Moore was a beast on the field last season for Weiss. Moore hauled in 85 passes for 1,443 yards and 19 touchdowns, and averaged 17 yards per catch. He led his Weiss team to a 10-3 record and a berth in the Texas 5A-D1 playoffs. Moore is ranked as the No. 22 receiver in the country, and is ranked No. 25 among all 2027 prospects in the State of Texas, regardless of position, according to 247 Sports.

According to TexasFootball.com, Moore is among the top 10 receivers, and the No. 1 receiver overall,  in the state of Texas for the 2027 recruiting cycle.

On the recruiting front, Moore holds 42 scholarship offers, including one from in-state rival and college football’s national runner-up, Miami. Currently, the Florida State Seminoles have six commitments in their 2027 recruiting class, but no wide receivers. Florida State’s 2027 class is ranked at No. 24 nationally and sixth in the ACC, according to 247 Sports.

With his size, Moore will have an advantage over smaller defenders, especially on 50/50 balls and contested catches, a sizable weapon on the perimeter.

For the upcoming 2026 college football season, the Seminoles have talented weapons in place on the perimeter in Duce Robinson and Micahi Danzy.

Robinson and Danzy combined for 83 catches for 1,652 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Danzy, as a freshman in 2025, averaged north of 21 yards per reception and led the team in that category. Robinson was third in the ACC in receiving yards. Danzy is also a track star for the Seminoles and has seen limited action in spring football practice

Moore could be a star of the future for the Seminoles. The talented Robinson could certainly move on to the NFL after the 2026 season, and Moore would be an excellent replacement for Robinson, a big target who can run and make plays.

Yes, everything is big in Texas, including talented receivers. Florida State coaches and recruiters should make a caravan to Pflugerville immediately and make Moore an offer he cannot refuse, before Miami does.
