The Georgia Bulldogs got back to business this week.

The Georgia Bulldogs absolutely dominated the Florida Gators on Saturday afternoon, handing Florida its sixth consecutive defeat at the hands of their hated rival and first in Atlanta.

While the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party may have looked a bit different on this Halloween Saturday, the results on the field were anything but that. It was a 27-8 drubbing in favor of the Bulldogs, and this team looked a whole lot closer to the version fans saw over the first month of the season.

Completely obliterating Florida on the ground, Georgia won the rushing battle 217-48, and after the question going in was whether or not the Gators would be able to run the football, Kirby Smart's defense answered with an emphatic "no."

Georgia Uses Elite Ground Game, Forces Turnovers to Put Game Away Early

The story of the game can be summed up with the fact that in the first half, the Dawgs won the turnover battle 3-0. Things really got out of hand in the final minute of the third quarter, where with Florida already trailing 17-0, Quintavius Johnson forced a fumble on Tramell Jones which Chris Cole picked up and returned for a touchdown -- his second on the season -- to make it 24-0 at the break.

Jones came into the game after Gators starter Aaron Philo struggled early to the tune of two interceptions. The spark head coach Jon Sumrall was looking for by putting Jones in the game was not delivered though, and the Dawgs defense simply kept teeing off.

On the ground, Nate Frazier finished as the leading rusher for Georgia with 67 yards and a touchdown while Dwight Phillips Jr. added another 67 of his own on eight carries. Gunner Stockton was not his best, completing just 13 of his 23 passing attempts for 101 yards, but he did not need to do a ton as the Bulldogs had a strong handle on things right from the opening possession.

Moving forward, the challenge does not get any easier for Georgia. With perhaps the biggest game of the season coming up next week on the road at Ole Miss, the Bulldogs need to be sharp throughout the month of November if they are going to make it back to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the second time this year and play for a third straight SEC Championship.

As has been the case for the last several years though, Georgia very much controls its own destiny, and the best league in college football still runs through Athens.
