The Georgia Bulldogs will try to avoid the letdown.

The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into another rivalry game this week against the Auburn Tigers, attempting to win their 10th straight edition of the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.

While the Tigers have certainly been close in recent years, those scares have not come in Sanford Stadium, and the Dawgs have not lost to Auburn at home in more than two decades. With that being said, anyone is capable of beating anyone in this league, and no one knows that fact more than Kirby Smart.

The Tigers have a talented roster, but on paper, this is a game where Georgia has a major talent advantage. However, there is one reason to be a little bit concerned, and it's a pitfall the Bulldogs must avoid.

Georgia Must Avoid Letdown Performance After Emotional Win, Auburn Bye Week

It's safe to say when Smart saw the schedule and realized the Tigers would be coming off a bye week and his team coming off a trip to Tuscaloosa, he was probably not thrilled. There is no one more equipped than him to have his team ready emotionally following the win over Alabama, however it is absolutely still something to note.

Beyond the natural complacency of a bit of a slip in performance after such a big win, handling the Crimson Tide in the trenches undoubtedly took a physical toll on this team as well.

Auburn meanwhile was resting up this past weekend and preparing for the Bulldogs, having had two weeks to not only watch film and game plan, but also to recover physically from the grind that playing in this conference every week takes on a team. Alex Golesh while he has struggled offensively this season is still among the best in the country when it comes to offensive game planning.

Perhaps he has taken the last two weeks to find the key to victory for this team, or at least the key to make it a close fight.

Ultimately, this is a fairly poor matchup for the Tigers and Georgia should be able to do a great job of exploiting their weaknesses. With that being said, it's an undeniable reality that teams can be prone to performing worse after a big win, and Auburn has had the extra time to get ready for this matchup.

A blowout would be immensely impressive, but more than likely, look for the Tigers to give the Bulldogs at the very least a real fight in their house.
