The Georgia Bulldogs saw a big camp from this future star.

The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into the regular season here just a few days from now after a grueling offseason program, spring practice and finally fall camp.

As is the case every year, guys are jostling for position when camp rolls around and trying to secure roles on offense or defense, and this year was no different. For the most part, the starters were already entrenched, but rotational roles are always up for grabs, and one young Bulldog went a long way towards securing his.

The headlines surrounding true freshman tight end/slot wide receiver Kaiden Prothro had been mixed with it being extremely tough to make an impact as such a young player, but Jeremy Johnson of UGA Sports On3 included him in his list of guys who raised their personal stocks during spring practice.

Georgia Saw Impressive Overall Camp from Prothro

"There were tidbits of Prothro being a hard-cover even back in the spring," Johnson wrote. "The five-star tight end signee is going to have some sort of role. He’s a unique weapon. How big a role will be the question this fall."

Exactly what role Prothro -- who was recruited as one of the best tight ends in the nation -- is going to play in 2026 remains to be seen, but getting on the field in a loaded TE room was always going to be tough. In the spring game, he played almost exclusively in the slot, which was seen as something that could not only get him on the field early but also create a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 230 pounds coming out of high school, Prothro is far from your typical slot but has the elusiveness and ball skills to be able to produce there right out of the gate and give this offense another major weapon.

These early non-conference games starting with Tennessee State this week could present some real opportunities for guys like Prothro to get on the field and prove why they deserve major snaps when the games start to get a little bit bigger.

Ultimately, Prothro may not have a major role this season in the offense, at least not at the start, but it does sound like he's put himself in a spot where he is going to get on the field in some capacity.

Fans are ready to see exactly what that ends up looking like.
