The Georgia Bulldogs will likely see Alabama again this season.

The Georgia Bulldogs won an absolute classic in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night, beating the Alabama Crimson Tide in their home stadium for the first time since 2007 and establishing themselves as perhaps the best team in the nation.

Following an absolutely dominant first five games of the season, the first real test was seen this weekend and to say Georgia passed it would be an understatement. Gunner Stockton played the best game of his career and the Bulldogs rushed for more than 200 yards without their top two running backs, coming into Bryant-Denny Stadium and earning every bit of a victory.

With the way things are playing out in the conference right now though, it seems more likely than not that this was not the only meeting of the season between the two SEC powerhouses.

Alabama and Georgia Could Likely Meet Again in SEC Championship

The Tide and Dawgs look like not only the two best teams in the conference, but maybe even the two best in the nation overall and after an all-timer this weekend, you won't find many picking against the possibility of a rematch in Atlanta to decide the SEC Champion.

If Alabama can continue to put it together with Keelon Russell at quarterback and an improved run game, it does not look like a team aside from Georgia is going to be able to beat them, and if both do in fact run the table, they will be the two teams who make it to the title game in Atlanta.

Ultimately, Georgia was the better team between the two sides, but the Dawgs certainly know firsthand that a team has a better chance when they are getting a second shot at an opponent, so this would be another battle if they were in fact to meet again.

Technically, they could even face off a third time in the College Football Playoff which would be historic, but these two teams are always going to have great battles every time they're on the same field together.

At the end of the day, Georgia must keep taking things week by week and focusing on what it takes to get better rather than getting caught looking ahead. For fans though, it's tough not to imagine the magnitude of a potential SEC Championship rematch and how great of a game it could be.

Until then though, both teams will be watched and followed very closely by the rest of the country.
