The Georgia Bulldogs have another defensive back circled.

The Georgia Bulldogs are heating up in the class of 2027, receiving three new predictions this week to land some of their top targets after getting off to a slow start before last weekend.

Amid their pursuit of several defensive backs in the class as they try to shore up secondary, they have now entered the race for a former Clemson commit who re-opened his recruitment.

According to intel from Jeremy Johnson of Dawgs HQ, in-state three-star safety out of Lakeside High School Seth Williams has received an offer from the Bulldogs after nickels coach Andrew Thacker watched Lakeside's practice last week.

Just as has been the case for so many in-state players, Williams talked about how much getting the offer from the biggest brand in the state meant to him.

Williams Says Georgia Offer Was Extremely Meaningful

“Being the hometown kid from Georgia, you know, getting that Georgia offer was different,” Williams said via DawgsHQ. “Just being able to get that offer, it’s like a legacy offer, you know. The family, my cousins, just my uncles, my granddads. That history of, you know, watching all the different types of Georgia players. Seeing the Hershel Walkers, seeing the A.J. Greens, seeing the Champ Baileys. Seeing all of it and just being a kid from Georgia to get that University of Georgia offer is different.”

Even though Clemson is still currently the favorite to re-secure the pledge of Williams, it seems clear that the young safety has been moved tremendously to get the offer from the Bulldogs.

He even said Georgia would be in his top-two, and that's even with the news that he also recently received an Ohio State offer.

What Kind of Skillset Williams Would Bring to Athens

Currently rated by On3 as just inside the top-1000 overall players in the nation, Williams may not be on a ton of rankings radars, but pursuit from the biggest programs in the nation indicate clearly they love what they are seeing on tape.

Rated right around the No. 100 player in the talent rich state of Georgia, Williams stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 190 pounds, impressive size for a kid going into his senior year of high school.

He has the potential to be a big-bodied safety who can lock things down over the top, and his willingness to go make a big hit stands out immediately on tape.

Over the summer, it seems like the Dawgs may start to put the full court press on Williams, especially if things don't go their way with other safeties in the class. He's a name worth keeping an eye on and it seems the race is not over.
