The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into the regular season in what feels like the very near future, and SEC Media Days always marks the unofficial start to the campaign and the last real step of the offseason.

With the program in an interesting spot following the way its season has ended the last three years, many are doubting whether or not Georgia can get back to the top of college football. The Bulldogs will always have a great roster under Kirby Smart, but there's one group in particular who has been at the receiving end of that doubt this offseason.

Losing a ton of talent in the wide receiver room is always tough and undeniably the Bulldogs don't have a ton of proven experience from their pass catchers, but that doesn't stop Smart from believing in them. After being asked on Tuesday -- and likely for the millionth time the last several months -- about the lack of experience there, Smart snapped back a bit and had his guys' backs.

In fact, he thanked the reporter for the fuel it provides his group.

"I'm just very thankful for people like you who keep questioning them," Smart said with a distinctive tone in his voice. "Because when you question them, the more it helps me motivate them. So, everybody says we don't listen to you guys, well the wide receivers are listening so they'll have a new challenge issued based on your question."

While Smart's answer will fire up the fanbase and the locker room, the question is certainly not an unfair one. It's not to say the team has a bad group here by any means and there is legitimate potential, however not a ton of the guys who will be playing major snaps have done so before.

Guys like Sacovie White-Helton, London Humphreys, Isiah Canion and Talyn Taylor all are going to have to step up in a big way in order to help Gunner Stockton take that next step and be the best offense they can be.

Clearly, Smart has confidence in what this group can do though, and if Smart has confidence then the fanbase should have confidence as well. There's work to do throughout the summer in order to get ready for the season, but the Bulldogs will leave Tampa and SEC Media Days with another chip on their shoulder.

Time will tell how they take advantage of it.
