The Georgia Bulldogs have to battle some real players for this four-star.
The Georgia Bulldogs have done some impressive things over the last month on the recruiting trail for the class of 2027, and this came on the heels of an uncharacteristically slow start.
Landing some major players to vault into the top-10 of the national rankings, it's taken a serious effort from this staff to get back to where they are used to being. The next month though is just as important as the last one, and Kirby Smart and this staff are going after some big time names.
One of those names has just set his commitment date in Birmingham native Karlos May, a four-star defensive lineman who can change any class he winds up joining. Following official visits to Georgia as well as Florida State and Auburn, May has one more lined up to Ohio State before he is ready to decide on July 18.

"It made me feel like a priority when I was in Athens," May said to Rivals of his visit to see the Bulldogs. "I wanted to see how I’d be used and be around the guys every day to understand what type of people I’d be around and what the brotherhood is like. The coaches have done a great job recruiting me, and the visit stood out."
Interestingly, May also revealed that the two schools recruiting him the hardest right now are both Georgia as well as Ohio State despite Auburn being seen as the heavy favorite. With still a month to go and anything able to happen, it makes a lot of sense why the biggest programs in the nation are after May so hard.
This is a guy with the potential to anchor an elite defensive line if he can develop.
What Kind of Skillset May Would Bring to Georgia
Standing at just under 6-foot-4 and weighing over 300 pounds, May has the ideal frame the Dawgs are looking for in an interior defensive lineman. Rated as a top-five player in the state of Alabama and just outside the top-100, this is very much a big boy recruitment in terms of competition and likely finances.
If May can be convinced that Athens is the place for him though, he could be the latest in a long line of large defensive lineman who have developed into superstars at the next level.
His next few weeks are worth keeping an eye on as a decision draws closer.
