The Georgia Bulldogs could be set to see a huge season from their star tailback.
The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into a regular season where they are going to try to win a national title for the first time since 2022, a task which has proven easier said than done in this era of college football.
If the Dawgs can learn anything from the Indiana Hoosiers run last season though, it's that toughness, execution, and fundamentals are still enough to play winning football, and it goes without saying where that all starts.
A productive running game is the hallmark of a championship football team, and as much as the game has changed to favor the pass over the years, being able to run the ball is still the most important thing to impose your will on an opponent and set the tone in a game.
For Georgia this year, while there may be questions about the passing game and who Gunner Stockton is going to be throwing the ball to, what is not a question mark is the running game. Both in terms of the group of ball carriers and the ones blocking for them, the Dawgs are going to have a chance to have one of the better running games in the nation this year, and it all starts with now veteran back Nate Frazier.
Frazier is Key to a Unit Which Has All the Pieces
Now entering his junior year, Frazier has been a significant part of this offense since the day he stepped foot on campus. After producing at a high clip during his freshman season in a shared backfield, he stepped into the bell cow role as a sophomore in 2025 and shined.
After hitting just under 1,000 yards, this could be the year he tops the mark or at the very least is as efficient as ever with however many carries he does get. Between Chauncey Bowens and Dante Dowdell, the Dawgs should always be able to have a fresh back on the field, and that back is going to be running behind an offensive line which should be among the best in the conference if not the country.
With a blend of veteran talent like Earnest Greene III and Drew Bobo as well as proven youth like Juan Gaston and Dontrell Glover, on paper Georgia has an absolutely sensational unit which should have a great year blocking the run.
Frazier is now more mature too, heading into his third year with the program and knowing the playbook like the back of his hand. Experience in the system combined with an elite group of blockers in front of him should combine to give Frazier his best season yet as a Bulldog.
