The Georgia Bulldogs are going to start making pushes on some of the best players in the state and nation.

The Georgia Bulldogs are having their annual Kirby Smart Scavenger Hunt on campus this weekend, and the word on the street is that there are going to be some absolutely massive names in Athens.

According to a report from one of the most in the know recruiting insiders out there in Steve Wiltfong of Rivals and On3, Smart and his staff are going to be hosting multiple five-stars both in the class of 2027 and the class of 2028.

Scavenger Hunt weekend is always one of the biggest chances for Smart to make his pitch to some of the best players in the nation, and this year's edition is going to be no different.

Georgia Hosting Numerous Top Stars in Athens This Weekend

The wide receiver position may be the most encouraging development headed into the weekend, and it's headlined by one of the biggest names out there in 2027 five-star Eric McFarland III.

Though he has been trending towards Texas A&M for some time now, McFarland III is going to be on campus and according to Wiltfong, Georgia is trending in the right direction here.

Rated as the No. 5 wide receiver in the country by 247 Composite for 2027 and the No. 25 player overall, the IMG product has received comparisons to Zachariah Branch. McFarland III is not the only one either, with at least two more four-stars confirmed by Wiltfong to be attending in Amare Patterson and Majay Thompson, both Carolina products who have been trending closer to the Bulldogs.

Will Georgia Actually Land Commitments This Weekend?

Often on these big time recruiting weekends, it's tough to gauge whether or not recruits are actually going to commit, and it's still early in the process even for the class of 2027, let alone 2028.

This is the time of year where the ball starts rolling towards building some of the best classes in the nation though, and it does feel like Smart is due to go on a huge run over the course of the next couple of months.

Time will tell if this is the weekend things really get kicked off for the class of 2027, but there would not be a better time for names to start rolling in as the race for the top guys in the nation keeps heating up.

All weekend long, keep your eyes peeled for some big time Bulldogs news on the recruiting trail.
