Fears Jr. vs Mirkovic

Jeremy Fears Jr. of Michigan State and David Mirkovic of Illinois are widely considered to be the two best players in the Big Ten this season, but which one is really better?

If you were starting a team and had to pick one guy, who would it be?

Fears is a 15.2-points per game scorer but he played on a team with less offensive options. Mirkovic scored 13.3 points per game as a freshman and has a higher ceiling than Fears in my personal opinion.

Fears also has the baggage of his infamous low blows against opposing players which became a trend last season and put him in the same class as former Duke star Grayson Allen. Allen overcame his reputation as a dirty player, but it's definitely a strike against Fears in my book.

I personally would choose Mirkovic over Fears, but Fears has a higher PPG from last year which I believe has given him the edge among preseason prognosticators.
