Players Discussion
Was there a cooler image during the first weekend of college football?
Josh Hoover's bloody nose/face had to be the image of the weekend. Just looked like an ultimate badass. Throws a TD pass three plays later. Legend.
How do you feel about Josh Hoover?
It's an interesting topic, and it's very hard to remove the hindsight factor, but I'm actually higher on Hoover at the beginning of the season than I was with Mendoza at the beginning of the season.
Obviously Mendoza went on to be incredible and the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, but coming from Cal, no one saw that. Hoover was pretty good at TCU and showed flashes of being really good.
White Sox SS Colson Montgomery Wants Similar IU Football Magic
Colson Montgomery, an Indiana native, is taking inspiration from the Hoosiers' improbable football national championship run and hopes his Chicago White Sox can find the same magic.
Indiana had the worst record in college football two years ago, and the White Sox set a record for losses in 2024. Montgomery, a former IU baseball commit who was the first-round pick of the White Sox in the 2021 MLB Draft, was a great high school football and basketball player as well.
