BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana and Wisconsin only play each other once this season, and the showdown comes on Saturday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. It's a huge game for both teams with a month to go in the regular season.
Both teams could really use a win to improve their resumes. What they have in common is a lack of quality wins against good teams. They each have just one, really, with Indiana beating Purdue and Wisconsin beating Michigan. It's been a struggle otherwise against top-level teams.
These games are always fun, and the series has been decidedly one-side through the years, first in Indiana's favor, and then lately in Wisconsin's side of the ledger.
There was a time when you could barely call this a rivalry. Under Bob Knight from 1980 to 1996, Indiana won 31 straight games. It's flipped almost completely lately.
Wisconsin has won 26 of the last 31 matchups with Indiana, including 12 of the last 15. Prior to Bo Ryan and Greg Gard’s arrival in 2002, the Badgers were 49-91 against Indiana all-time, but have gone 32-8 in the 40 matchups since.
Wisconsin’s 26-5 record over Indiana since 2007-08 is the best by a Big Ten team against the Hoosiers — and it's not even close. Purdue (21-11) is next, but that's a full six games behind the Badgers' amazing run.
Here are the details on how to watch the game, along with three newsy nuggets on the game:
Who: Wisconsin Badgers (16-6, 8-3 in Big Ten) at Indiana Hoosiers (15-8, 6-6 in Big Ten).

Point spread: Indiana is a 4.5-point favorite over Wisconsin, and the over/under is 155.5 points, according to the Fanduel.com gambling website.
Series history: Indiana leads the series 98-82.
Last meeting: Wisconsin defeated Indiana 76-64 at the Kohl Center in Madison on Feb. 4, 2025, and this one was never close. The Badgers jumped out to a 19-2 lead in the first four-plus minutes.. It was Wisconsin's 21st straight home win against Indiana, dating back to 1998 and the first year of the Kohl Center. Indiana won the last meeting in Bloomington on Feb. 27, 2024. The Hoosiers won 74-70 with Kel'el Ware leading the way with 27 points on 11-of-12 shooting.
1. TUCKER DeVRIES' SCORING STRUGGLES: Indiana senior forward Tucker DeVries is No. 1 in the country in points scored (2,301) among active players, but he's been on the struggle bus lately. In the past three games, he's scored just five points against USC, and nine points against both UCLA and Purdue. He's scored in single digits seven times since Jan. 4. In his four previous seasons, he's failed to hit double digits in just nine games. With eight games remaining in Big Ten play, the Hoosiers need DeVries to find his form again.
2. FINDING HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE AGAIN: Indiana won its first 10 home games at Aseembly Hall this season, but then played poorly in the second half of home losses to Nebraska and Iowa. They got back on track with a huge home win over Purdue on Jan. 27, and need to keep it going this weekend. It's a quick turnaround this week, with Saturday's matchup against Wisconsin followed by a Monday night home game with Oregon. The Hoosiers need two wins desperately to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
3. CONERWAY'S ROLE?: Tayton Conerway has been in and out of the lineup in the past three weeks, dealing with an ankle injury. He missed two guys, and tried to go at Michigan, but could only play two minutes. He was on the floor for 10 minutes on Tuesday night at USC, and made some key buckets during the Hoosiers' late rally that came up short. Nick Dorn averaged 22.7 points per game while Conerway was out, so it will be interesting to see how he used Conerway this weekend with the ankle doing better. But what will also be worth watching is how he might bounce back with the quick turnaround.
