The Hoosiers dominated the first half, built a commanding lead and got contributions throughout the lineup in a comfortable 23-point victory over Bellarmine.

Indiana basketball took care of business Thursday night, cruising to a 92-69 victory over Bellarmine in a game that was never particularly close. The Hoosiers were expected to handle the Knights, and head coach Darian DeVries' squad did exactly that, using a dominant first half and balanced offensive attack to secure another early-season victory.

The Hoosiers wasted little time establishing control, racing out to a 50-26 halftime advantage. Indiana shot 56.7 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes, including an impressive 8-of-17 performance from beyond the arc. The offensive efficiency allowed Indiana to build a comfortable cushion that Bellarmine never seriously threatened.

Sophomore guard Darren Harris was the star of the night, pouring in a game-high 23 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Harris was particularly dangerous from long range, connecting on five of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc while adding six made free throws. His perimeter shooting provided a major spark for an Indiana offense that continues to develop its identity under DeVries.

Bryce Lindsay also delivered a strong performance, contributing 15 points and four assists. Lindsay knocked down three 3-pointers, giving Indiana another reliable scoring option from the perimeter.

The Hoosiers received additional contributions from several other players. Sam Alexis finished with 12 points and six rebounds on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting, while Aiden Sherrell added 12 points and six boards. Trevor Manhertz chipped in nine points, five rebounds and two assists.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was the quiet night from point guard Markus Burton, who finished with just two points on 0-of-7 shooting. Burton still contributed four assists, but Indiana's ability to score 92 points without much offensive production from its lead guard was an encouraging development.

As a team, Indiana shot 50 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from 3-point range, finishing with 12 made triples. The Hoosiers also dominated the glass, outrebounding Bellarmine 42-26, including an 18-8 advantage on the offensive boards.

Indiana wasn't quite as sharp after halftime, getting outscored 43-42 over the final 20 minutes while shooting just 23.5 percent from deep, but a lot of that was cruise control and bench players getting some run. The Knights found more offensive success in the second half, but the outcome was never in serious doubt.

Ultimately, this was the type of performance Indiana needed against an overmatched opponent. There are still areas to clean up, particularly with offensive consistency and turnovers, but the Hoosiers showed impressive scoring depth and perimeter potential as they continue building chemistry early in the season.
