Indiana's offense struggled to find its rhythm against Michigan, but Brock Schott, Joe Brunner and Charlie Becker led the way according to Pro Football Focus.

When you look at the final score in Indiana's 13-6 overtime win over Michigan, it's pretty obvious that the Hoosiers had a difficult afternoon offensively. Curt Cignetti and Co. managed just 212 total yards and couldn't find the end zone during regulation. Quarterback Josh Hoover struggled against Michigan's secondary, and Indiana converted just four of its 14 third-down opportunities. However, the Hoosiers found a way to win when it mattered most. Hoover connected with tight end Brock Schott for 21 yards in overtime before scoring the game-winning touchdown himself. It wasn't pretty, but Indiana improved to 7-1 with a hard-fought road victory.

In a close game like Saturday's, using a tool like Pro Football Focus allows us to see what happened on a player-by-player basis and gives some insight as to how it really went. It's not gospel, but there are some things that just don't show up in the box score that can tell another part of the story.

Top Three Offensive Performers (25 snap minimum)

1. LG Joe Brunner - 67.5

Brunner was Indiana's highest-graded qualifying offensive player, earning a 67.5 overall grade across 54 offensive snaps. He was particularly effective in the running game, posting a 67.5 run-blocking grade across 33 run-blocking snaps. His 63.5 pass-blocking grade wasn't quite as impressive, but he provided a relatively steady presence up front. With Indiana managing 131 rushing yards against Michigan's defense, Brunner helped the Hoosiers establish enough of a ground game to stay competitive.

2. WR Charlie Becker - 67.2

Becker followed up his massive performance against Ohio State with another solid showing, earning a 67.2 overall offensive grade and a 67.3 receiving grade. He played 54 offensive snaps and finished with three receptions for 32 yards, averaging 10.7 yards per catch. His longest reception went for 15 yards. Becker wasn't nearly as productive as he was against the Buckeyes, but he remained one of Hoover's primary targets against Michigan's talented secondary.

3. RB Turbo Richard - 66.7

Richard rounded out Indiana's top three with a 66.7 overall offensive grade across 32 snaps. He led the Hoosiers in rushing with 68 yards on 19 carries, averaging 3.6 yards per attempt. Richard earned a 65.8 rushing grade and was particularly impressive in pass protection, posting a 76.5 pass-blocking grade. With Indiana's passing attack struggling to generate much production, Richard's ability to consistently carry the football was important in keeping the offense moving.

Interesting Notes

Tight end Brock Schott actually earned Indiana's highest overall offensive grade at 73.4, but his 22 snaps fell below the 25-snap minimum. Schott also earned a team-high 74.2 receiving grade and made arguably the biggest offensive play of the afternoon with his 21-yard reception in overtime.

Hoover had a particularly rough outing according to PFF. The Indiana quarterback finished with a team-low 46.3 overall offensive grade and a 48.6 passing grade. He completed just 8-of-18 passes for 81 yards with an interception, although his overtime touchdown run ultimately won the game.

Indiana's offensive line was a mixed bag in pass protection. Bray Lynch led the way with an impressive 81.4 pass-blocking grade, followed by Carter Smith (79.4) and Adedamola Ajani (77.4). However, Drew Evans struggled mightily, earning a team-low 20.0 pass-blocking grade across 21 pass-blocking snaps.
