MIAMI, Fla. — Indiana won its first-ever college football national championship on Monday, beating the Miami Hurricanes 27-21 in the title game of the College Football Playoff.
The Hoosiers finished the season 16-0 and made a remarkable run under coach Curt Cignetti, who was hired two years. They won a school record 11 games a year ago and are now a perfect 16-0, the first time that's happened in college sports since Yale in 1894.
