How to Watch Indiana Basketball Against Purdue Tuesday

Indiana continues the 2023-24 season on Tuesday against the Purdue Boilermakers at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind. Here's how to watch, game time and TV information, the point spread and over/under, the coaching matchup, series history, predicted score, stats, rankings and more.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – One of college basketball's best rivalries will be renewed Tuesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall as Indiana hosts Purdue.

Coach Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers won both game last season, but the Boilermakers still managed to win coach Matt Painter's fourth Big Ten regular season title. 

Heading into this year's first matchup, Indiana is coming off a 74-62 win over Minnesota on Friday, and Purdue dominated Penn State, 95-78, on Saturday.

  • Point spread: Purdue is a 9.5-point favorite, and the over/under is 151.5 points, according to the SI Sportsbook on Monday afternoon.
  • Recent results: Indiana lost 66-57 at Rutgers on Jan. 9, then defeated Minnesota 74-62 at home on Friday. Purdue lost 88-72 at Nebraska on Jan. 9, then defeated Penn State 95-78 at home on Saturday.
  • Home, road, neutral trends: Indiana is 9-1 at home, 1-2 on the road and 2-2 at neutral sites. Purdue is 9-0 at home, 1-2 on the road and 5-0 at neutral sites.
  • Last season: Indiana went 23-12 overall and finished tied for second in the Big Ten with a 12-8 conference record. The Hoosiers earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament and lost to No. 5 seed Miami in the Round of 32. Purdue went 29-6 overall and won the Big Ten regular season title with a 15-5 record. The Boilermakers won the Big Ten Tournament, then lost in the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 as a No. 1 seed to No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson, 63-58.
  • Last meeting: No. 17 Indiana defeated No. 5 Purdue 79-71 at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind. on Feb. 25, 2023. Freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino led Indiana with 35 points. Trayce Jackson-Davis added 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Miller Kopp and Trey Galloway shot a combined 6-for-11 from 3-point range. Zach Edey led Purdue with 26 points and 16 rebounds, but the Boilermakers shot just 34.9% from the field.
  • Series history: Purdue leads the all-time series 125-92. Current Indiana coach Mike Woodson is 3-1 against Purdue, which snapped a nine-game losing streak under Archie Miller, who never beat Purdue in four seasons, and Tom Crean, who went 5-10 against the Boilermakers. Since 2000, Purdue holds a 22-20 advantage in the series. Hall of Fame Indiana coach Bob Knight went 31-29 against Purdue, which partially overlapped with Hall of Fame Purdue coach Gene Keady, who went 23-27 against Indiana. Purdue went 51-10 against Indiana from 1900-39.
