BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — After making a short trip north to Indianapolis, coach Tom Allen and the Indiana Hoosiers are back in Bloomington on Saturday to take on the Akron Zips.
Indiana will host an opponent under the lights for the second time this year, as kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET inside Memorial Stadium. The Hoosiers will be wearing new black uniforms in this game.
Indiana is looking to bounce back against Akron after a furious second half comeback against Louisville fell just short, ending in a 21-14 defeat for the Hoosiers. The Zips are coming off a 35-3 defeat at the hands of Kentucky, though the final score deceives how close the contest actually was. With less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Akron trailed their SEC opponents just 14-3, but Kentucky tacked on 21 points at the end to pull away.
Along with Indiana State, Saturday's matchup against Akron is a game most IU fans penciled in as a win on the schedule. Playing against a team in the bottom half of the MAC, Indiana should be able to win by a comfortable margin. However, the Zips are coached by Joe Moorhead, who brings Big Ten experience as a successful offensive coordinator at Penn State.

From 2007-10, Lynch posted a 19-30 overall record as the Indiana football coach, while Akron was coached by J.D. Brookhart in 2007 and 2009's games against the Hoosiers, and by Rob Ianello in 2010.
- Last meeting: Indiana defeated Akron 35-20 on Sept. 25, 2010 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns.
