We're in the heart of football season but it won't be long before basketball tips off.
Indiana fans are locked in with the football program right now but basketball will always be huge in The Hoosier State. Wednesday afternoon, the Big Ten announced the basketball schedule for the 2026-27 season. Below is the official release.
The Big Ten Conference announced the 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule on Wednesday evening. Indiana will open the 20-game slate against Rutgers on Tuesday, Dec. 1, before traveling to Iowa on Monday, Dec. 7.
The Hoosiers will play nine contests in the month of January. IU will host USC (Jan. 2), Maryland (Jan. 12), Michigan (Jan. 16), Illinois (Jan. 24), and UCLA (Jan. 30) with road games at Oregon (Jan. 6), at Washington (Jan. 9), at Minnesota (Jan. 20), and at Northwestern (Jan. 27).
February will begin with back-to-back road games at Penn State (Feb. 2) and at Nebraska (Feb. 6). The Cream and Crimson will also hit the road for tilts at Maryland (Feb. 13) and at Wisconsin (Feb. 19). Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall will host Northwestern (Feb. 9), Purdue (Feb. 16), Michigan State (Feb. 23), and Ohio State (Feb. 28) during the month.
Indiana will close the regular season with a trip to in-state rival Purdue (March 5).
The 2027 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will be played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The six-day tournament will begin with first-round matchups on Tuesday, March 9. The Big Ten Tournament champion will be crowned on Sunday, March 14.
