With Week 7 of the NFL season having come and gone we are now officially halfway through the 2026 NFL season, and with that, like every other season, come injuries. Former Cyclones have been hit hard with injuries this season, and those injuries have left fewer players available this week.

Here's how some of your favorite former Iowa State football stars performed in Week 7.

Breece Hall (RB – New York Jets)

Hall missed his fourth consecutive game this season after suffering a quad injury during the 31-24 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 3. As a result, the Jets have relied on third-year back Braelon Allen to take over running back duties in Hall's absence. But Hall has been working toward a return for the Jets' and could look to be back at some point in the second half of the season.

New York is now 2-5 on the year after a disappointing loss to the winless Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

David Montgomery (RB – Houston Texans)

After beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-31 in Week 6 to get their second win of the season, the Texans were once again without running back Montgomery in Week 7, as he has been sidelined with a quad injury since Week 5. With Montgomery out, the Texans struggled, leading to a 27-21 loss to the New York Giants, and now the Texans fall to 2-5 on the season. Before the injury, Montgomery had put up decent numbers (52 carries, 138 yards, 2 TDs).

Brock Purdy (QB – San Francisco 49ers)

Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers suffered their first loss of the season, falling 20-29 to the Atlanta Falcons. Purdy struggled, going 27 of 40 for 288 passing yards and one touchdown while throwing two interceptions. The Falcons defense was able to put pressure on Purdy and the 49ers offense all day, leading to a 49ers loss.

The 49ers now fall to 6-1 on the season, still maintaining first place in the NFC West.

Jaylin Noel (WR – Houston Texans)

After a recent three week stretch in which Noel broke out having over 200 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns, he struggled against a tough Giants secondary and had just two catches for negative three yards. He did manage to see make some plays on special teams with one punt return for 11 yards and a kick return for 21 yards. The Texans would fall to the Giants 27-21 and are currently at 2-5 as they head into their bye week.
