Things are beginning to look up in a major way for Iowa State football.

The Cyclones entered a Halloween clash against No. 24 Oklahoma State with nothing to lose, and they played like it, scoring a 51-49 victory at Jack Trice Stadium on Saturday night.

Jimmy Rogers now has his first ranked win as Iowa State's head coach, and we've got you covered with some of the top numbers courtesy of the game notes.

11: Iowa State and Oklahoma State have a history of playing close games, and Saturday was just another page of that book. The Cyclones' two-point margin of victory marked the 11th consecutive time this series has been decided by seven or fewer points. Entering the game, the only longer streak in the nation was a 12-game streak between Arizona and California from 1987-1998. Iowa State's win was also its third straight in the series (2023, 2025, 2026).

9: Iowa State has its first ranked win of the Jimmy Rogers era and has now earned a ranked victory in nine of the last 10 seasons. Rogers is 26-2 when coaching at home.

50,295: Jack Trice Stadium wasn't sold out for this Halloween night matchup, but Cyclone fans still managed to get over 50,000 fans inside the Jack, most of which flooded the field in celebration after Iowa State clinched the victory.

581: One week after scoring three points and recording just 221 total yards of offense in a dismal 39-3 loss to Arizona, the Cyclones couldn't be stopped on Saturday. Iowa State finished with 581 yards of offense - its most since racking up 714 against Louisiana-Monroe in 2019 and most in a Big 12 game since collecting 608 in a blowout win over Patrick Mahomes and Texas Tech. The 51 points were also the most in a Big 12 game since the Cyclones scored 59 against Kansas in 2021.

221: Star running back Aiden Flora was untouchable in this one, recording a career-best 221 rushing yards and two touchdowns. This was the second time that Flora has gone over 200 rushing yards this year

1983: Kyle Konrardy's 34-yard walk-off field goal was expected, but it's not a very common way for Iowa State to win football games. Connor Assalley defeated Texas on a last-second field goal in 2019, but the two walk-off field goals are the Cyclones' only walk-off field goals since 1983.

309: Quarterback Jaylon Raynor threw for a season-high 309 yards and earned his 24th triumph as a starting quarterback - the seventh-most among FBS quarterbacks.

171: Jamal Polite Jr. is just a freshman, folks. His 171 receiving yards are the 15th-most by a Cyclone ever and third-most by any freshman in the country this season (best in Big 12). Polite was also the first Iowa State freshman wideout to tally a 100-yard receiving game since 2008, which was also coincidentally against Oklahoma State (Darius Darks).

Up Next

Iowa State returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 7, for a road matchup against Baylor. The Bears slumped to a 4-3 start, which led to the firing of head coach Dave Aranda and a sudden resurgence under interim coach Joe Klanderman. Baylor boat-raced UCF, 41-9, on Friday night, so it appears it will be fired up to return home to Waco for this game.

Kickoff from McLane Stadium is set for 11 a.m. local time on FS1.
