Happy game day eve, Hawkeye fans!
We began prediction Friday with our score prediction for No. 14 Iowa's big-time clash against No. 5 Ohio State at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, and now it's time to round out the day by switching our attention to the sportsbooks.
What are the oddsmakers saying about Iowa-Ohio State? We're going to find out and then give our prediction, including spread, total, and other fun plays.
Here we go.

The Line
Spread: Ohio State -14.5
Total: 45.5
The Picks
Iowa +14.5: If you've read my score prediction by now you know that I have Iowa falling short in this game, but I just can't see the Hawkeyes getting blown out on their home turf. There's just something about Kinnick Stadium that opponents have a hard time navigating, and I think you'll see a valiant fight from Kirk Ferentz's team. Iowa's offense isn't as explosive as Ohio State's, but it's good enough to trade punches with the Buckeyes. Very surprising to see the spread this high, especially considering the Hawkeyes nearly (and probably should've) took down Indiana and Oregon at Kinnick last year.
Under 45.5: Again, if you've read my final score prediction you'll be able to do the math here. I'm honestly regretting my score pick because I do think there are going to be some points on the board in this game, but a 27-17 final score in favor of Ohio State just feels like a fitting score for a game like this. Iowa will want to shorten this game as much as possible, and if it gets the ground going against a Buckeye defense that is very susceptible to the run game, and I think it's able to do so.
Other Picks
-111 for alternate total 46.5: This feels like cheating after my original pick, but there's a possibility we see this game be played in the mid to late-20s. That would easily push the total over, and it might be a safe bet to go with this alternate line if you're in the betting mood.
+100 for Iowa to score over 16.5 points: My final score prediction also gives this one away, but I just think Iowa is able to get its offense going enough to score at least 17 points.
Ohio State -2.5 first quarter spread: Here's a fun one. Kinnick Stadium is going to be a hornet's nest on Saturday, but I think the score after the first quarter will be Ohio State 7, Iowa 3. That would have Buckeyes covering this first quarter line by a whisker. There's not going to be any sort of a runaway game at Kinnick.
