The college football season really does go by in an instant. 

Though there's still 10 more games left on Iowa football's 2026 regular season schedule  CBS Sports national college football analyst tweeted that the regular season is already 25% complete. 

That may be a crazy figure for some to comprehend, but the Hawkeyes are almost in conference play. Saturday's dramatic 16-13 victory over Iowa State may still live in the minds of Iowa fans, but its well out of the minds of the team.

The focus now turns to a Saturday matinee with in-state foe Northern Iowa (3 p.m., FS1). 

We've got your full preview of the non-conference finale all week long, so here are some numbers you should know before the game courtesy of Iowa's game notes: 

0: Though it struggled to open running lanes in the Cy-Hawk Game, Iowa's offensive line continues to be excellent in pass protection. The Hawkeyes haven't allowed a sack yet in 2026, with the Hawkeyes averaging 191 rushing yards per game over the first two contests. 

4: Iowa had a hard time obtaining the Cy-Hawk Trophy over the last few seasons, but it's now back in Iowa City for the first time since 2023. That means the Hawkeyes have all four rivalry trophies - Cy-Hawk, Heartland Trophy, Heroes Trophy, and Floyd of Rosedale - on display in the front lobby of the Hansen Football Performance Center 

6.5: Iowa has allowed 6.5 points per game through two weeks. 

10: Caden Buhr's 42-yard field goal in the final seconds pushed Iowa over the finish line against Iowa State. If you're wondering if there's an additional Iowa statistic about winning games on late field goals, there is. The Hawkeyes have won 10 games on a field goal in the final 30 seconds of a game, with the most recent one prior to Buhr's kick being Drew Stevens' game-winner at the buzzer to beat Michigan State last year.

17: Iowa and Northern Iowa have been playing football for a long time. Saturday's clash at Kinnick Stadium will be the 19th in the series and first since 2018. The Hawkeyes are 17-1 against the Panthers, with the one loss ironically coming in their first meeting all the way back in 1898. Northern Iowa won 11-5, a score that is next to impossible for today's game. 

25: If it feels like wide receiver Tony Diaz has been the primary target for either Hank Brown or Jeremy Hecklinski, that's because he is. It's rare to see transfer wide receivers find success in Iowa City in this decade, but Diaz has been a superstar for this offense. He's already been targeted 25 times and has a team-best 15 catches for 179 yards, including a 56-yard catch against the Cyclones. 

28: Iowa is averaging 28 points per game through two weeks. 

30: While Nebraska continues to make headlines with its 64-season sellout streak, Iowa is slowly building its own sellout streak at Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes have played in front of capacity crowds in every home game since 2022, with Saturday's game being the 30th consecutive sellout. 

56: Northern Iowa was pegged as a 12-point favorite over in-state rival Drake last weekend, and it may have taken the line personally. With Panther and NFL legend Kurt Warner in attendance for his jersey retirement ceremony, UNI exploded for 56 points en route to a 56-14 victory. The 56 points were the most the Panthers have scored in a game since 2022, when they dumped 58 on South Dakota.
