Things look a little different in the Big Ten since the Hawkeyes last took the field.
While No. 15 Iowa was enjoying its bye week, chaos ensued throughout college football.
Five top-10 teams went down, including No. 1 Georgia. That result had nothing to do with the Big Ten, but the showdown between Indiana and Ohio State did.
The Buckeyes withstood a furious fourth quarter rally by the Hoosiers to remain unbeaten in conference play and hand Indiana its first home loss under Curt Cignetti.
Indiana isn't going to tumble very far in our new edition of Big Ten power rankings, but other teams in the conference will certainly be in different positions compared to our last update two weeks ago.
Without further adieu, here is our newest batch of Big Ten power rankings. Keep reading to see where the Hawkeyes land after a successful start to the season
18: Maryland (2-5, 0-4)
I don't know how many Maryland football fans exist out there, but there's no reason they should be subjected to watching Mike Locksley coach their football team anymore. A winless Big Ten season is very likely for the Terps.
17: Michigan State (2-5, 0-4)
I would love to see Michigan State and Maryland play each other because it would probably be the only chance either team has of getting a conference win in 2026. The Spartans have been very competitive over the last two weeks, but that just doesn't cut it.
16: Rutgers (2-4, 1-2)
I didn't think Rutgers would win a Big Ten game this year, but credit Greg Schiano's group for winning at Maryland. Can they keep it going?
15: Penn State (3-4, 0-4)
I doubt Matt Campbell gets fired after one year in Happy Valley, but things continue to get much, much worse for Iowa State East. Rocco Becht looks nothing like he did in Ames.
14: Illinois (3-3, 1-2)
Illinois was on a bye this week, so maybe Bret Bielema and Co. made some adjustments to their struggling defense?
13: Purdue (3-4, 2-2)
Purdue entered a winnable Friday home game fresh off a two-game winning streak, but the Boilers fell flat on their face against Washington. It's going to be an uphill climb to get to six wins.
12: Washington (4-3, 1-3)
Washington looked completely dead after losing to Iowa, but give Jedd Fisch's team credit for going to West Lafayette and leaving with a win against an improved Purdue team. Maybe Elijah Brown is the answer at quarterback.
11: Michigan (4-2, 1-2)
I think the Bryce Underwood era in Ann Arbor is over. Tommy Carr wasn't perfect, but the Wolverines looked like a rejuvenated bunch when he replaced Underwood in the second half and led Michigan to a much-needed win over Penn State.
10: Minnesota (4-2, 2-1)
P.J. Fleck's Gophers were on a bye. That might be a good thing considering red-hot Iowa comes to Minneapolis this weekend.
9: Nebraska (5-2, 2-2)
Another week, another blown fourth quarter loss for Nebraska. The Huskers should be 7-0 and competing for a College Football Playoff spot right now but they instead has their fans in misery once again.
8: Oregon (4-2, 2-1)
I know Dante Moore is injured, but there's no reason Oregon's offense should be this bad without him. The Ducks rallied to beat Nebraska, but this looks like a non-CFP team. That's a big disappointment for Dan Lanning and Co.
7: Wisconsin (4-2, 2-1)
Wisconsin is a much better team this year, but the offense looks like it still has serious problems. The Badgers will have an opportunity for a major home win when USC comes to town this weekend.
6: Northwestern (5-1, 2-1)
Northwestern barely survived Michigan State, but that's what you have to do to be a good team in the Big Ten. With Rutgers on deck this week, the Wildcats should be 6-1 when they travel to Oregon on Halloween.
5: USC (6-1, 3-1)
Lincoln Riley's team earned a well-deserved off week after taking down Penn State in the White Out game two weeks ago. A tough test in Madison awaits.
4: UCLA (6-0, 4-0)
I said I would be all-in on Bob Chesney and UCLA if they could win at Oregon, and they did just that. The only problem? The Bruins lost quarterback Nico Iamaleava to a knee injury. Though the Bruins held off Wisconsin, this offense will need to score more than 17 points if it wants to keep UCLA's surprising perfect season rolling.
3: Iowa (5-1, 2-1)
Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes are right in the CFP mix. If Iowa can navigate a tricky, but manageable back half of the season, it will be in the College Football Playoff for the first time ever. That push begins with a game at rival Minnesota on Saturday.
2: Indiana (6-1, 3-1)
Indiana was one Nick Marsh foot in bounds away from storming back to beat Ohio State, but Marsh couldn't get his foot down. The Hoosiers are still a good team, but the offense has a lot of work to do.
1: Ohio State (6-1, 4-0)
The Buckeyes almost blew a double-digit fourth quarter lead for the second time this year, but Ohio State caught a bit of luck when Marsh stepped out of bounds. This was a major win for the Buckeyes, but losing Julian Sayin is a tough blow for this team. Can OSU weather the storm?
