Since May 28, we've been counting down the final 100 days until the Hawkeye swarm out of the Kinnick Stadium tunnel for their season opener against Northern Illinois on Sept. 5.
Each day of the countdown has primarily featured an article profiling each member of the 2026 Hawkeyes based on their jersey number. If our countdown reaches 64 days, then we're going to profile the athlete that dons No. 64.
Today marks 63 days until kickoff, so that means it's time to take a look at the man who wears No. 63 - offensive lineman Josh Janowski.

Hometown: Frankfurt, Illinois
High School: Lincoln Way East High School
Year: Redshirt Sophomore
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 292 pounds
Other notable players to wear No. 63: A recognizable recent name in Hawkeye football history to wear No. 63 was former center Austin Blythe. Blythe was a stalwart on Iowa's offensive line during his tenure, starting nearly every game at center for the Hawkeyes from 2013-2015, which included the magical 12-2 campaign in 2015 where Iowa reached the Rose Bowl for the first time in 25 years.
Janowski's career so far
Janowski hasn't seen any playing time for the Black and Gold yet, but he had a distinguished playing career for Lincoln Way East High School in the Chicago suburbs, leading the Griffins to the state championship game in both his junior and senior seasons.
Janowski left high school as Lincoln Way East's all-time leader in pancake blocks (132), which is when a lineman completely smacks or knocks their opponent to the ground. Janowski's performance caught the eye of several major college programs such as Iowa, Illinois, and Northwestern, and 247Sports ranked him as a three-star prospect.
Janowski committed to Iowa just two days after receiving his offer, and decided to early enroll in January 2024.
The Hawkeyes' stacked offensive line room has prevented him from seeing the field, and with Kade Pieper or Michael Myslinski entrenched in the starting center spot, it appears that Janowski will probably have to wait until 2027 to see major action.
