Here's how Caitlin Clark and the rest of the Iowa women's basketball players have performed in the W since our last update on May 11.

The WNBA season is only three weeks old, but that hasn’t stopped four former Iowa women’s basketball players from making an impact on their respective clubs.

Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever are starting to get hot after a rough start, but you’re probably watching all of those games since the Fever play all 44 regular season games on national television.

Clark obviously remains the highlight of the Hawkeye alums and the entire league, but there’s two players on the West Coast that you probably haven’t been able to follow as much.

Without further adieu, here’s your weekly dose of Hawks in the WNBA:

Featured stories

Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever

Clark has had an eventful stretch of games since our last recap on May 11. She had an up-and-down (by her standards) first week of the season, but is starting to get things going again.

Clark recorded a near double-double of 24 points and nine assists during a victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on May 13 and used that to fuel consecutive double-doubles in a two-point loss against Lucy Olsen and the Washington Mystics on May 15 and an impressive road win at the Seattle Storm on May 17.

But that's where the drama begins. Clark didn't play due to a back injury in Indiana's 90-73 triumph over the Portland Fire on May 20, which stirred controversy amongst WNBA fans. Some accused the Fever of holding Clark out due to load management, but she silenced the critics by dropping 22 points in a 90-82 victory over the Golden State Valkyries on May 22.

Indiana, now 4-2 overall and second place in the WNBA, will have a few more days off before returning to action against the Valkyries on May 28.

Megan Gustafson, Portland Fire

Gustafson's minutes with the expansion Fire have fluctuated, but the 6-foot-4 center has given the new organization some much-needed veteran leadership.

Portland has played five games since our last revisit, but Gustafson's best game in that stretch may have been her most recent one - a 99-80 road victory over the Toronto Tempo, the Fire's expansion brethren.

Gustafson recorded 14 points, four rebounds, and a block in the win, including 2-for-3 from three point range. Gustafson wasn't known for her perimeter jump shooting during her career with the Hawkeyes, but has added that to her game since.

Portland, 3-3 and in 10th place in the WNBA standings, returns to action on Monday evening against the New York Liberty.

Lucy Olsen, Washington Mystics

Olsen hasn't seen much playing time with Washington this season. She didn't register a single second of game action when the Mystics traveled to Indiana to play Clark's Fever, but she did earn a season-high 10 minutes and eight points during a blowout loss to the Dallas Wings on May 18.

Washington, 2-3 overall and 13th place in the WNBA standings, returns to action on May 27 against Seattle.

Kate Martin, Los Angeles Sparks

Martin was waived by Golden State before the season began, but has found a new home in Southern California with the Sparks. Martin scored 11 points in 18 minutes of action in a 106-96 loss to Toronto on May 17, but has played very sparingly since (seven minutes combined in last two games).

Los Angeles, 3-3 overall and eighth place in the WNBA standings, returns to action on May 29 against the Storm.
