Kansas State Wildcats cornerback JoJo Scott could find himself in the secondary rotation this season
Last year Kansas State Wildcats cornerback JoJo Scott was just getting acclimated to playing at the college level.
It showed because he barely saw the field, playing mostly special teams. A year later, things appear to have changed. He could find himself in the secondary rotation after impressing the coaching staff during the spring and in training camp.
"I think number one, it's his maturity level," Peterson said. "He is showing himself over these last eight and a half months that he approaches it like a pro. What I mean by that is he's constantly inquisitive. He's asking questions. He's trying to figure out, 'Ok, cool, I know this is what my job is, but why? Where does it fit in the bigger piece? Where is my help?' He's done a really, really nice job, and obviously the play on the field has continued to get better and better and better. So, I'm really excited about his progress and where he's at right now."
A sophomore, Scott played his high school ball for Victory Christian in Lakeland, Fla.
STILL COMPETITION AT LEFT TACKLE
The left tackle position is among the biggest concerns for the Kansas State Wildcats football team.
The offensive line took a serious blow when it was announced John Pastore and George Fitzpatrick were ruled out for the season. Pastore sustained a lower leg injury during training camp while Fitzpatrick continues to deal with a medical emergency that kept him out all of last season as well.
First-year Wildcats coach Collin Klein offered an update on the position Wednesday while speaking to fans at Cat Chat. Here's what he had to say about the left tackle slot: "I'm really excited to see who steps up. I think it'll be a bit by committee, especially early, as we continue to gel, even as we start playing games."
