Kansas State coach Collin Klein lauds the new receiving room for next season after illustrating progress in fall camp.
As Kansas State football fans continue the 2026 season countdown, one of the biggest positions they'll eye is wide receiver. They will need production on that front after losing star receiver Jayce Brown to LSU.
Well, all seems to be good, according to coach Collin Klein. He lauded multiple receivers as potential breakout players for quarterback Avery Johnson next year.
Jaron Tibbs
2025 STATS: 47 REC, 595 YDS, 3 TD
The projected No. 1 receiver next season, Tibbs is Johnson's most consistent returner. Johnson primarily found him in short-yardage situations and to convert first downs. He will take a much larger role this season and will have to do it without a downfield weapon like Brown beside him.
"Getting him back from the spring was tremendous. He's had a really good camp and started fast," Klein said in his fall camp press conference.
Joshua Manning
2025 STATS: 29 REC, 318 YDS, 2 TD
One of the most prominent names circulating at Kansas State for years, the program finally brought in the veteran receiver. He established a relationship with Johnson coming out of high school, and now the two will have the chance to develop on-field chemistry as teammates. Manning should be the projected No. 2 receiver this upcoming year.
"You can tell he's comfortable from getting here in the spring, getting around Avery [Johnson], and them getting on the same page," Klein said. "We've been able to see him come out of his shell, compete at a high level, and take some steps forward."
Izaiah Williams & Brandon White
2025 STATS (Williams): 7 REC, 64 YDS, 1 TD
2025 STATS (White): 38 REC, 399 YDS, 2 TD
Izaiah Williams and Brandon White are two more playmakers who have a chance to shine in this Wildcats offense. While Tibbs, Manning, and tight end Garrett Oakley will likely get the most targets, these two can also shine as producers. Williams, who played alongside Klein the last two seasons at Texas A&M, could blossom on the perimeter as a big-time playmaker.
"Izaiah Williams has been very consistent and has had some plays, and then Brandon White has really come on and done some really good things in the slot and the return game," Klein said.
Adonis Moise & Larry Porter IV
2025 STATS (Moise): 6 REC, 56 YDS
Moise and the freshman Porter IV didn't make Klein's top four, but still received some praise as potential pieces to round out the main corps.
"Adonis Moise and Larry Porter IV have done some really nice things. So, I'm excited for that group," Klein said.
As Johnson braces for a bounce-back season, all will be crucial in his production. Last season, Brown once again blazed as Johnson's top weapon with 41 receptions for 712 yards and five touchdowns. Losing him was the biggest hit to the offense, as Johnson primarily looked for him down the stretch.
But Klein's faith in the current group is promising. He will likely integrate more running into the offensive scheme with Joe Jackson, Rodney Fields, and Jay Harris in the backfield, while getting Johnson out on the run more often. This will alleviate a bit of pressure off a relatively new corps, allowing them to shine when needed.
