Kansas State fans were probably holding in a last gasp that wide receiver Jayce Brown would come back to the program after his initial transfer portal announcement.

Well, that unfortunately isn't going to happen. Any time a star option like Brown announces his intentions to depart from a team, he's likely not coming back. College football insider Hayes Fawcett reported that Brown is already set to visit other teams, mostly in the SEC. Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Kentucky, and Louisville were on Brown's list.

"Kansas State standout transfer WR Jayce Brown is set to visit these six schools, he tells on3Sports. In his time with the Wildcats, he totaled 115 receptions for 2,133 total yards and 14 TDs.  Brown is the No. 3 WR in the On3 Portal Rankings," Fawcett tweeted.

Brown would fit into a high-flying offense like Ole Miss's, which boasts six players with at least 14.5 yards per reception. At the same time, he may be more beneficial to teams like Georgia and Auburn that crave a receiving threat.

Whatever the case, you'd have to imagine that all six make strong offers. Brown had 115 receptions for 1,972 yards and 13 touchdowns during his three seasons at Kansas State, while rushing for 161 yards and one touchdown.

He was one of the biggest downfield weapons in the Big 12 over the past few seasons. He averaged 17.4 yards per catch last year, the third-highest in the conference. Brown continued blazing as the Wildcats' top weapon in 2025, but exited with an injury toward the end of the season. He was undoubtedly a crucial piece of the offense, as there were many affairs when he and quarterback Avery Johnson were the primary sources of offense.

He announced his program exit on Dec. 16 and is now officially in the portal conversations since they opened on Friday.

"To my Kansas State family, I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have called Kansas State University my home. Wildcat Nation, I can't thank you enough for your support over the past three seasons. I will never forget my time in Manhattan, and playing for all of you. To my family, y'all have been with me from the beginning. Thank you for always being by my side, and I'm so thankful to have you on this journey with me," Brown said in his statement via social media.
