We’re gonna move our program forward and take the steps necessary to chase excellence in everything we do. We’re gonna love our players. We’re gonna be elite relationship builders that strive and scratch and claw to make sure that we know that we, myself, and our staff have their backs no matter what. And make sure to help them become the best they can possibly be, on and off the field.”

FORMER KANSAS STATE STAR STILL GETTING DRAFT HYPE AFTER SENIOR BOWL

Former Kansas State offensive lineman Sam Hecht continues to get NFL Draft hype after his Senior Bowl performance.

Bleacher Report was the latest to laud the veteran Wildcats center.

The article wrote:

"The NFL has an offensive line problem. Quality depth is lacking around the league. A squad can be quickly exposed with one or two injuries up front. Thusly, quality blockers prepared for the professional game tend to be highly regarded throughout the draft process. Kansas State's Sam Hecht was the most consistent day-to-day performer among all of the offensive linemen in Mobile. Hecht started 25 straight contests for the Wildcats before his collegiate career came to a close. His performance at the Senior Bowl reflected what was seen on tape."

Hecht earned All-Big 12 honors in each of his last two seasons (Second-team in 2024, First-team in 2025) and was also an honorable mention for Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year last season. He is currently projected as a third or fourth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
