Help is slowly on the way.
Kansas State added another player through the transfer portal on Monday: Virginia Tech guard Jaden Schutt. Schutt averaged 7.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists last season. He was knocked out of the starting rotation from the previous year, only starting five times in the 2025-26 season. Schutt shot 38.4 percent from the floor and 38.5 percent from 3-point range.
He spent his first two seasons with Duke before his two-year tenure with the Hokies. Hopefully, Schutt's sharpshooting can be utilized in a Wildcats offense that succeeded on the perimeter. Casey Alexander emphasized the 3-point shot in his game plan as the head coach. The Wildcats will have to account for the losses of their top scorers to the portal, as well as sharpshooter Abdi Bashir Jr.

Buca was a fan favorite among the Wildcats faithful. His offensive presence created great plays on the perimeter and some highlight dunks on his own. On the defensive side, his size was perfect for protecting the paint and blocking shots. Buca's numbers didn't jump off the stat sheet, but were impressive for the amount of time he played.
