As the college basketball transfer portal officially opens on Apr. 7, Kansas State is anticipated to have a wholesale roster revamp. KStateRountable has the latest updates within the program:
Latest Loss: Abdi Bashir Jr., Junior Guard
NEW TEAM: N/A
2025-26 STATS: 13.2 PTS, 2.2 REB, 2.3 AST
ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: Apr. 5
It was only a matter of time before Kansas State's stars entered the transfer portal, delayed by the news of much smaller names headlining the losses. Abdi Bashir Jr. announced his plans to enter on Sunday afternoon. He averaged 13.2 points on 44.4 percent shooting from 3-point range.
LOSSES
Exavier Wilson, Freshman Guard
NEW TEAM: N/A
2025-26 STATS: N/A
ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: Apr. 4
Another one bites the dust.
Kansas State freshman Exavier Wilson, a three-star guard from Father Tolton High School in Columbia, MO, will reportedly enter the transfer portal when it opens on Tuesday. The Jerome Tang recruit didn't see any playing time this season. He also had offers from West Virginia, FIU, and Missouri State.
David Castillo, Sophomore Guard
NEW TEAM: N/A
2025-26 STATS: 10.3 PTS, 1.9 REB, 1.8 AST
ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: Apr. 2
Sophomore guard David Castillo has announced his intentions to leave the school, making him the second player to depart from last year's roster. He rose in production in his second season, especially in the non-conference slate.
Yes, he's no PJ Haggerty or Abdi Bashir Jr., but Castillo's loss is detrimental to program development. He was one of the few players on the team before this season, so he was one of the few players with prior Wildcats experience. We all know Haggerty, Bashir, and the others brought in by Jerome Tang are likely to depart. But Castillo was one who fans were hoping to stay, even for his dip in conference play.
Stephen Osei, Sophomore Forward
NEW TEAM: N/A
2025-26 STATS: 0.7 PTS, 1.0 REB
ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: Mar. 30
Osei barely saw the court for the Wildcats last season, logging just nine playing minutes with two points, three rebounds, and three turnovers. He never even suited up during conference play, a stretch where Kansas State could have used some big men in the absence of forwards Khamari McGriff, Elias Rapieque, and Mobi Ikegwuruka.
