It's been relatively quiet for Kansas State football over the last month.
The program came back with a prospect overhaul on Monday. The Wildcats added two offensive weapons, including wide receiver David Rushing. Rushing is a three-star prospect from Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, AZ.
Rushing received offers from Utah, Oklahoma State, and East Carolina, but ultimately picked Manhattan, KS, as his new home. He had 34 receptions for 589 yards and six touchdowns last season. His father, George, played tight end at Florida in the early 1990s, while his brother, Elijah, is a defensive end at Oregon.
Here are the other recent moves within the 2027 class:
IN: Ben Hynek, Tight End
The Wildcats added Hynek on Monday, a four-star tight end from Stanley High School in Stanley, ND. He also had offers from Arizona, Auburn, and Michigan. This is a huge addition for the team, acquiring not only their first offensive weapon but a highly ranked prospect.
With veteran tight end Garrett Oakley having one year of eligibility, the Wildcats want to start providing some depth at the position. We'll still have to see what the team does with five-star Linkon Cure this season, as he was injured most of his freshman year.
OUT: Dawayne Jones, Defensive Tackle
Jones, who committed to the Wildcats in February, has announced that he will search elsewhere for his new home. He was a three-star prospect but is recognized as a four-star player by some recruiters.
Jones currently attends Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, OK. He also received offers from Arizona, Arizona State, and Auburn. He is the brother of former Wildcats defensive back Wayne Jones, who played three seasons with the team.
IN: Giacamo SanFilippo, Linebacker
Kansas State football has another three-star prospect for Collin Klein's inaugural recruiting class. Giacamo SanFilippo, a linebacker from Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, FL, officially committed to the Wildcats on Sunday. He also had offers from Louisville, Illinois, and Coastal Carolina.
Last season, SanFilippo had 57 total tackles, eight of which were for losses, 3.5 sacks, and two pass deflections. He joins Canaan Smith (offensive lineman), Nazir Pitchford (cornerback), Julian Elzey (safety), and Colton McComb (linebacker) in the Wildcats' 2027 class.
