Kansas State football continues to extend its potential 2028 class with another offer.
The program offered four-star edge rusher Chance Archangel on Monday. He currently attends Westgate High School in New Iberia, LA. The Wildcats are up against some stiff competition, though, as the defensive end also received offers from schools like Houston, Texas, LSU, and Alabama.
"BLESSED to receive an offer from KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY," Archangel tweeted.
247Sports ranks him as the No. 136 player in the nation, including the 12th-best at his position.
Kansas State's current projected top two edge rushers, Elijah Hill and Wendell Gregory, will both be true sophomores in their first seasons at Kansas State. The hope is that they break out as stars and stick around the program for years to come. However, as evidenced by the recent transfer portal window, stars come and go. Edge rusher was perhaps the Wildcats' strongest position last season despite the disappointing year.
Players like Tobi Osunsanmi, Ryan Davis, and Chiddi Obiazor held down a unit that anchored the Wildcats' defense upfront.
KANSAS STATE OFFERS FOUR-STAR QUARTERBACK OSCAR SLOAN
It's never too early to start building for the future.
Kansas State football has been busy establishing one of the top 2027 class units in the country, and the program is extending that effort to the 2028 class as well. The Wildcats extended an offer to four-star quarterback Oscar Sloan on Sunday. Sloan attends Center Grove High School in Greenwood, IN.
"After a great throwing session and conversation with Coach Ellsworth, I’m thankful to receive an offer to Kansas State University," Sloan tweeted.
Sloan has also received offers from Cincinnati, Iowa, and Illinois, among others. Last season, he threw for 1,689 yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
The Wildcats have to start anticipating the future at the position with Avery Johnson on the way out. Klein says the quarterback battle hasn't really made any strides in spring ball thus far.
"There hasn’t been a guy that’s taken it yet," Klein said in his second spring ball presser. "If you made a decision on a different day, you've probably made three different decisions in the course of 10 days. That’s a credit to what good competition is. I think they’re all getting better and improving."
