Bill Self bolsters a high-stakes September recruiting weekend as the Jayhawks battle Big 12 rivals for the signature of a premier sharpshooter with a lethal perimeter game.
Kansas Basketball To Host Rising 2027 Guard Parker McDaniel On Official Visit
Kansas basketball is adding another highly regarded prospect to an already busy September recruiting schedule.
Class of 2027 guard Parker McDaniel is expected to take an official visit to Lawrence during the weekend of Sept. 11-12, according to 247Sports recruiting analyst Eric Bossi.
McDaniel will join fellow 2027 prospects Malachi Jordan and Jalen White as expected visitors that weekend, giving Bill Self and his staff another opportunity to make an early impression on one of the class' rising players.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound McDaniel has climbed recruiting rankings in recent months after receiving an offer from Kansas in June.
According to 247Sports, McDaniel is ranked as the No. 96 overall player in the 2027 class and the No. 15 shooting guard nationally.
McDaniel is entering his junior season at South Central Prep in Oklahoma and has already attracted interest from several major programs. His recruitment includes offers from more than a dozen Division I schools, with Big 12 programs Oklahoma State and West Virginia also involved.
One of McDaniel's biggest strengths is his perimeter shooting. He is known as a movement shooter with the ability to create scoring opportunities from beyond the arc and possesses a quick release on his jumper.
Kansas will not be his only upcoming visit.
McDaniel is also expected to visit Washington later in September before making a trip to Oklahoma in October.
His planned visit adds to an important stretch for Kansas as Self continues building the program's future recruiting classes. The Jayhawks are also scheduled to host Jordan and White during the same Sept. 11-12 weekend.
With several highly regarded prospects expected on campus at the same time, September could become an important early period in Kansas' pursuit of its next recruiting class.
