Standing 7-foot-2 with a high-efficiency post game, this resilient center brings defensive grit and veteran size to a revamped Jayhawks frontcourt after battling through injuries to showcase his potential.
Bill Self Sees Immediate Impact From Christian Reeves Addition
As the Kansas Jayhawks continue to rebuild their roster, head coach Bill Self believes new transfer Christian Reeves could be a key piece right away.
The 7-foot-2 center arrives in Lawrence after a productive season at the College of Charleston, where he averaged 11.1 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting over 65% from the field. His path to Kansas included stops at Duke and Clemson, where injuries and limited opportunities kept him from consistent minutes.
“I think that Christian will have an immediate impact for us,” Self said. “He really didn’t have an opportunity to play a ton until College of Charleston, and what was so impressive is he averaged over 11 points and eight rebounds a game with a hurt shoulder all season long.”
Reeves earned All-CAA Third Team and All-Defensive honors despite playing through injury, showcasing both his toughness and potential.
“It’s exciting because he’s dealt with so many injuries and for the first time in his college career, we can see the potential,” Self said. “It’s the first time he’s really been able to play.”
Reeves joins a crowded but intriguing frontcourt that includes returner Paul Mbiya, incoming freshman Davion Adkins, and recent addition Grant Mordini. Transfer forward Keanu Dawes also adds experience to the group.
With elite freshman Tyran Stokes expected to lead the way, Reeves’ size, efficiency, and veteran presence could play a major role in balancing Kansas’ lineup heading into the 2026–27 season.

Kansas Baseball Sweeps Arizona With 11-5 Win, Extends Hot Streak
Kansas baseball completed a dominant series sweep over Arizona with an 11-5 victory on Sunday at Hoglund Ballpark, continuing its strong late-season push.
The Jayhawks used a five-run fourth inning to take control of the game and never looked back. Kansas’ offense came alive after an early deficit, responding with multiple home runs and timely hitting to build a comfortable lead.
Brady Ballinger and Tyson Owens each homered, while key contributions from Josh Dykhoff, Jordan Bach, and Cade Baldridge helped fuel the scoring surge.
Kansas took its first lead in the second inning and broke the game open in the fourth, plating five runs to go up 9-4. The Jayhawks added insurance runs late, including a seventh-inning home run from Owens to extend the advantage.
Arizona managed a late home run but could not close the gap as Kansas secured the sweep and continued its momentum heading toward the postseason.
The Jayhawks will next travel to face Creighton before returning home for their final regular-season series against West Virginia.
