Even after dealing with a recent sprained ankle, hamstring strain and cramps that have cost him time, Kansas freshman Darryn Peterson remains the betting favorite to go No. 1 in the 2026 NBA Draft.
FOX College Hoops shared odds Monday showing Peterson as the favorite to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, listing him at -160, ahead of BYU’s AJ Dybantsa (+165) and Duke’s Cameron Boozer (+750), according to FanDuel.
The 6-foot-6, 205-pound guard has powered the buzz when hes been on the court. Peterson is averaging 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 49.3 percent from the field for the Jayhawks, but has missed a good amount of games due to injuries.
A native of Canton, Ohio, Peterson has quickly become Kansas’ go-to scorer and one of the most dynamic freshmen in the country. Peterson and the Jayhawks will take on BYU and Dybantsa on Saturday.
