Flory Bidunga Commits to Louisville, Kansas Loses Defensive Anchor
Former Kansas Jayhawks big man Flory Bidunga has officially found his next home, committing to the Louisville Cardinals after a weekend visit, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Bidunga’s departure is a significant blow for Kansas, especially on the defensive end. The sophomore center was a major presence this past season, averaging 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game while earning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors. He started at center and quickly became the backbone of KU’s interior defense.
Across two seasons in Lawrence, Bidunga played in 69 games and developed into one of the most impactful big men in the conference. His ability to protect the rim and control the glass made him a key piece for the Jayhawks.
Now, he heads to Louisville, where he joins a program continuing to rebuild its roster through the portal. His visit also overlapped with Oregon transfer Jackson Shelstad, who shares the same agent, adding another layer to Louisville’s offseason moves.
For Kansas, the focus now shifts fully to roster reconstruction. Bill Self and his staff have been active, setting up Zoom calls and lining up visits with multiple portal targets, including Robert Morris transfer DeSean Goode and VCU transfer Terrence Hill Jr.
With just two scholarship players, Kohl Rosario and Corbin Allen, expected to return, the Jayhawks still have plenty of work to do.
