A 29 Point Comeback

Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers delivered an incredible comeback Thursday night, overcoming a 29-point deficit to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-106 in their home opener. Embiid played a major role in the second-half turnaround, helping Philadelphia secure one of the most memorable victories of the early NBA season.

The Sixers entered halftime trailing 69-45 after struggling to slow down Cleveland's offense. Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 32 points, and Philadelphia appeared to be in serious trouble after falling behind by as many as 29 points.

However, the Sixers refused to give up. Philadelphia outscored Cleveland 69-37 in the second half, steadily cutting into the deficit before taking control during a dominant fourth quarter.

Embiid finished with 24 points and seven rebounds, shooting eight of 16 from the field in 34 minutes. He also converted seven of his nine free-throw attempts, providing Philadelphia with an important inside presence when the game became tight.
