Vitals: No. 19 Kansas heads to Manhattan on Saturday to face Kansas State in the Dillons Sunflower Showdown, closing a two-game road trip at Bramlage Coliseum.

The Jayhawks are riding a three-game winning streak after a 75 to 69 victory at Colorado. Kansas State snapped a five-game skid with an 81 to 78 win over Utah and is 8-4 at home this season.

Kansas averages 77.8 points per game and ranks among the Big 12’s best defensive teams, leading the league in both field goal percentage defense and blocked shots.

Freshman Darryn Peterson leads Kansas at 21.6 points per game, but he is questionable with an ankle sprain, with Tre White and Flory Bidunga also playing at a high level during the current surge.

Quote

“They’ll play at a high level on Saturday and we should have to play at a high level in order to have success,” Self said. “For us, it’s probably as good a home court as we’ll play in our league.”
