Inside The Opponent: A Look Into The No. 11 Texas Tech Red Raiders

No. 14 Kansas men's basketball takes on No. 11 Texas Tech tonight at 8 p.m. CST on ESPN at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas. Texas Tech enters at 16-5 overall and 6-2 in the Big 12, but is looking to rebound after an 88 80 loss at UCF. The Red Raiders remain perfect at home at 11-0.

Texas Tech is home to two of the best players in the country, JT Toppin and Christian Anderson. Toppin is coming off a Big 12 Player of the Year season with Texas Tech and has picked up right where he left off, and is averaging 22.4 points per game this season. Anderson was a member of the Big 12 All-Freshman First Team last season and is now averaging almost 20 ppg for the Red Raiders (19.6).

The Red Raiders hold two top-15 wins: one over No. 10 Houston and one over No. 13 BYU.

This matchup will go a long way toward determining the Big 12 Conference race because both teams are 6-2 in conference play and tied for fourth in the standings. A win tonight would push one team up in the standings. Every game in the Big 12 is a grind, but tonight will be even more with two great teams facing off on ESPN's Big Monday.
