Isaiah Marshall Records Fourth-Highest QBR in the Country After Career Performance Against Utah

Kansas Jayhawks quarterback Isaiah Marshall is beginning to make a name for himself nationally after delivering one of the strongest performances of his young college career against Utah. Despite Kansas falling 41-24 to the No. 12 Utes on Oct. 10, Marshall's performance stood out, earning him recognition as having the fourth-highest QBR in the country last week.

Marshall continued to show improvement as Kansas' starting quarterback, throwing for a career-high 333 yards and two touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. His ability to make plays through the air gave the Jayhawks opportunities to compete against one of the Big 12's top teams.

According to the Kansas Athletics game recap, Marshall helped Kansas battle back after falling behind early. The Jayhawks trailed 14-0 in the first quarter but responded with an improved offensive performance to keep the game competitive through the third quarter.

Marshall completed 19 of 37 passes for 333 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also recorded a six-yard rushing touchdown, demonstrating his ability to contribute as both a passer and a runner. His passing production was particularly encouraging against a Utah defense that entered the matchup undefeated.

One of Marshall's biggest strengths was his ability to attack downfield. He connected with multiple receivers on explosive plays, helping Kansas move the football against Utah's defense. Wide receiver Cam Pickett also delivered a career-best performance, recording eight receptions for 134 yards.

Marshall's performance received additional attention from Pro Football Focus. According to Kansas Jayhawks On SI, he earned a 91.0 overall PFF grade against Utah and was credited with six big-time throws. His performance on passes traveling at least 20 yards downfield was particularly impressive.

The recognition is an encouraging sign for a Kansas offense that has worked to establish consistency throughout the season. Marshall's continued development could give the Jayhawks a stronger passing attack as they prepare for the remainder of their Big 12 schedule.

However, the loss also showed that Kansas must improve in other areas. The Jayhawks struggled to establish their running game against Utah and were unable to stop the Utes from pulling away in the fourth quarter.

Marshall's individual performance nevertheless provides a positive foundation moving forward. If he can maintain his confidence, limit turnovers and continue connecting with his receivers, Kansas could become more dangerous offensively.
