Jayhawks face a roster reset as six players enter the portal. Discover who's leaving Lawrence and which transfers are visiting Bill Self's rebuilt squad.
JayhawksRoundtable Kansas Basketball Transfer Portal Tracker: Who’s Leaving Lawrence?
Kansas is quickly becoming one of the busiest programs in the transfer portal this offseason, with six Jayhawks already entering and the roster facing a major reset heading into 2026-27. With Bill Self returning, the next few weeks will be critical as the staff looks to rebuild.
Here’s a clean look at who’s in the portal:
Kansas Transfer Samis Calderon Has Committed To Butler
Another Jayhawk has decided to leave Lawrence. Freshman forward Samis Calderon plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. DraftExpress’ Jonathan Givony first reported the news on Thursday morning.
The former Overtime Elite player averaged 0.4 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in just 16 games this season. As a young freshman, he saw limited time on the court.
Calderon is the sixth former Kansas player to hit the Transfer Portal. He joins center Flory Bidunga, guard Elmarko Jackson, center Paul Mbiya, guard Jamari McDowell, and forward Bryson Tiller. Kohl Rosario and Corbin Allen are the lone Jayhawks returning from last season.
Jamari McDowell (G)
McDowell became the latest addition to the portal after serving as a key bench piece this season. The redshirt sophomore brought energy, defense, and occasional scoring, but never carved out a consistent role in the rotation.
Elmarko Jackson (G)
A former five-star recruit, Jackson entered the portal seeking a bigger opportunity. Known as one of Kansas’ top perimeter defenders, he never fully developed offensively during his time in Lawrence.
Paul Mbiya (C)
Mbiya flashed potential, especially during the NCAA Tournament, but saw limited minutes as a freshman. The big man will now look for a larger role elsewhere.
Bryson Tiller (F)
Tiller’s departure was a significant one after averaging 7.9 points and 6.1 rebounds. The former Overtime Elite prospect showed real upside, making him one of the tougher losses to swallow.
Apr. 2 — Flory Bidunga (F/C)
Flory Bidunga Commits to Louisville, Kansas Loses Defensive Anchor
The biggest name on the list. Bidunga, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, is testing the NBA Draft while entering the portal. His departure leaves a massive hole in the frontcourt and signals a major shift for the roster.
Kansas currently sits with just one returning player, putting heavy pressure on Self and his staff to attack the portal aggressively. Expect this list to shape the direction of KU’s offseason as roster turnover hits full force in Lawrence.
Visits:
Kansas Hosts Charlotte Transfer Anton Bonke for Visit
Kansas is getting a closer look at a potential answer in the frontcourt. Charlotte transfer Anton Bonke is on campus today for a visit, giving Bill Self and the Jayhawks a chance to evaluate one of the more intriguing big men in the portal. At 7-foot-2 and 260 pounds, Bonke would be a clear, like-for-like replacement at the five following Flory Bidunga’s departure, and one of the tallest players Kansas has ever rostered.
Bonke’s path has been anything but typical. He began at JUCO Eastern Arizona, made a brief stop at Providence, and broke out this past season at Charlotte. There, he averaged 10.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, a top-four rebounding mark in the AAC, while flashing some perimeter touch, knocking down 13 threes at 34.2%.
Utah Transfer Keanu Dawes Set To Visit Kansas
Keanu Dawes is set to visit the Kansas Jayhawks, as KU continues to evaluate options in the transfer portal. The visit was first reported by JayhawkSlant, with additional reporting from Michael Swain, Shreyas Laddha, and Mike Vernon. Dawes’ agent, Brandon Grier, also confirmed the trip.
Robert Morris Transfer Forward DeSean Goode Visits With Kansas On Zoom
VCU transfer Terrence Hill Jr. will visit both Kansas and Tennessee this week, Hill will visit Kansas on Monday and Tennessee on Wednesday
