California dual-threat sensation Chance Thomas chose the Jayhawks over Auburn and Utah, bringing a 4,000-yard offensive powerhouse to bolster Lance Leipold’s rising 2027 recruiting class.

Kansas Football Lands Commitment From 2027 QB Chance Thomas

Kansas added another key piece to its 2027 recruiting class Monday with the commitment of three-star quarterback Chance Thomas.

The 6-foot-1 dual-threat signal caller from Anaheim, California, chose the Jayhawks over Auburn and Utah after receiving more than a dozen Division I offers, including interest from Arkansas, Iowa State, and North Carolina.

According to 247Sports, Thomas ranks as the No. 27 quarterback in the 2027 class and one of the top overall prospects in California.

Thomas put together an impressive junior season at Western High School, throwing for 3,327 yards and 33 touchdowns while adding 734 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground. His ability to extend plays and create with both his arm and legs makes him a strong fit for Kansas’ offensive system.

Head coach Lance Leipold and the KU staff continue building momentum in the 2027 cycle, with Thomas becoming the fourth commitment in the class. He joins wide receiver Deng Tong, offensive tackle Derek Gonzalez, and running back Trey Stewart.

With his dual-threat ability and production, Thomas gives Kansas another promising quarterback prospect as the program continues strengthening its future under Leipold.

Seattle Seahawks Land Steal with Emmanuel Henderson Jr.

The Seattle Seahawks might have just found a gem. Emmanuel Henderson Jr. is officially off the board, and for where he was taken, this feels like a steal. He was one of the few bright spots for Kansas last season, finishing with 766 receiving yards and five touchdowns while also making an impact in the return game. The upside is easy to see.

Henderson’s speed jumps out immediately. He can stretch the field, create big plays, and flip momentum as a returner. That 214 yard, two touchdown game against Cincinnati showed exactly what he can be when everything clicks.

He is not a finished product, but late in the draft, that is what you are betting on. Traits and ceiling.

Seattle gets a player who can contribute on special teams right away and develop into more in the offense. If he puts it together, this could end up being one of the better value picks from this class. Low risk, high upside. That is a win.
