The Kansas Jayhawks are without star freshman Darryn Peterson for tonight's game against the top-ranked Arizona Wildcats. According to multiple reports, Peterson is dealing with flu-like symptoms.
The setback continues a season of adversity for Peterson, who has dealt with hamstring and ankle issues. Regardless, he is still considered to be among the top two picks in the June NBA draft. He and BYU freshman AJ Dybantsa are the consensus best prospects in college basketball.

No. 11 Kansas men's basketball will try to defend home court Monday night when the No. 1 and undefeated Arizona Wildcats men's basketball rolls into Lawrence for what should be one of the loudest environments of the season.
Kansas comes in off a strong week after handling Utah and continuing a six-game winning streak that has kept the Jayhawks firmly in the Big 12 race. Arizona arrives unbeaten at 23-0 overall and 10-0 in league play, with an average margin of victory of 18.5 points since conference action began.
It is just the third time this season Kansas has been a home underdog under head coach Bill Self. Historically, Kansas has thrived in that role, owning a 3-1 straight-up mark in such games.
The Wildcats bring balance on both ends, ranking first nationally in defensive efficiency and fifth offensively in advanced metrics. Their attack is powered by a pair of elite freshmen in guard Brayden Burries, who averages 15.3 points per game, and forward Koa Peat, who adds 14.6 per night. Five other Arizona players score at least eight points per game, making the Wildcats difficult to key on.
“It’ll be a fun game,” Self said Saturday. “It’ll be a fun atmosphere. Only one day to prep, but hopefully we can figure something out to at least slow them down.”
