Bill Self secures the program's highest-rated haul since 2013, pairing the nation's top prospect with an elite supporting cast to cement the Jayhawks as national recruiting powerhouses.

Kansas Jayhawks Land Top-3 2026 Recruiting Class Behind Tyran Stokes Commitment

Kansas has officially secured one of the nation’s top recruiting classes, finishing in the top three across major final rankings for 2026.

Following the addition of No. 1 overall prospect Tyran Stokes, the Jayhawks landed at No. 3 in ESPN’s final rankings and No. 2 according to 247Sports. Only Arkansas and Duke finished ahead of Kansas across the two outlets.

It marks KU’s highest-rated class since 2013, when the program brought in a loaded group headlined by Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid.

This year’s class is anchored by Stokes and includes a strong supporting cast that gives head coach Bill Self another elite foundation heading into the 2026–27 season.

With a top-tier class now finalized, Kansas has positioned itself among college basketball’s recruiting elite once again and added another potential program, changing star to lead the way.

Kansas Baseball Falls to Creighton 9-8 in 13 Innings, Win Streak Snapped

Kansas dropped a marathon midweek matchup Tuesday night, falling 9-8 to Creighton in 13 innings at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

The loss snapped the Jayhawks’ 10-game winning streak despite an explosive start at the plate. Kansas built an early lead with three runs in the second inning and four more in the fourth, later adding a solo home run in the sixth to go up 8-6.

Josh Dykhoff led the offense with his 11th home run of the season, while Cade Baldridge recorded three hits for his 23rd multi-hit game of the year.

Creighton battled back to tie the game at 8-8 in the seventh inning, and both teams went quiet offensively down the stretch. Kansas had opportunities late but could not push across a run over the final seven innings.

After escaping threats in the 11th and 12th, the Jayhawks couldn’t hold on in the 13th, as Creighton’s Ben North delivered a walk-off solo home run to end the nearly five-hour game.

Kansas used eight pitchers in the contest, with multiple relievers turning in scoreless outings to keep the game within reach.

Despite the setback, the Jayhawks sit at 37-12 on the season and will return home to face No. 15 West Virginia in their final regular-season series.
