Kansas women's basketball schedule released

The Kansas women’s basketball team now knows what its path through the 2026-27 season will look like after the Big 12 released its conference schedule Thursday.

The Jayhawks will begin Big 12 play at home against Oklahoma State on Dec. 20 at Allen Fieldhouse before navigating an 18-game conference schedule that includes several familiar opponents and challenging road trips. Kansas will play nine conference games at home and nine on the road.

Kansas will start the conference portion of its schedule with Oklahoma State before traveling to West Virginia on Dec. 30 and Cincinnati on Jan. 2. The Jayhawks will then return home for consecutive matchups against Arizona on Jan. 6 and Baylor on Jan. 9.

The schedule becomes busy in the middle of January. Kansas will travel to Oklahoma State on Jan. 13 before heading to Utah on Jan. 16. The Jayhawks will return to Allen Fieldhouse to face Iowa State on Jan. 20 and then travel to Colorado on Jan. 24.

Kansas will close January with three important home games. The Jayhawks host Arizona State on Jan. 27 before facing Kansas State on Jan. 31. Kansas and Kansas State are among the three opponents the Jayhawks will play twice during the conference season, along with Iowa State and Oklahoma State.

February will begin with another road test at BYU on Feb. 6 before Kansas returns home to face TCU on Feb. 10. The Jayhawks will then travel to Houston on Feb. 13 before hosting UCF on Feb. 16.

Kansas will finish the regular season with a difficult stretch on the road. The Jayhawks travel to Kansas State on Feb. 20 and Iowa State on Feb. 24 before returning to Lawrence for Senior Day against Texas Tech on Feb. 28.

The conference schedule is only part of what awaits Kansas this season. The Jayhawks will open the regular season Nov. 3 against Omaha at Allen Fieldhouse after exhibition games against Northeastern State and Washburn. Kansas also has nonconference games against Drake, Oral Roberts, Nebraska, Minnesota and South Dakota State, along with the Cancun Challenge.

Head coach Brandon Schneider enters his 12th season leading the program. Kansas returns key players including S’Mya Nichols and Jaliya Davis while adding a recruiting class highlighted by McDonald’s All-American Cydnee Bryant.

The Big 12 season will conclude with the conference tournament at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City from March 3-7/8. With the full schedule now released, Kansas can begin preparing for a season that features plenty of opportunities to build momentum before postseason play.
